Alec Morrison

Hailing from Northern Ontario, Canada, musician, poet, and artist Alec Morrison studied blacksmithing and sculpture at Haliburton School of the Arts. He is proud of his roots, and released his first album Chop Bust with the punk band Bayl in 2000. Newer projects include the album with Crank Radio (self-titled, 2009), his first acoustic solo project, Already Been Where I Was Goin’... (2011), and his more recent solo album, Nowhere Is The Place For Me (2013). Art has always been a passion for Alec. Using iron, stone, plaster, or wax, he welds, cuts, paints, draws, shapes, and moulds his materials into imaginative and even startling works of art. Alec enjoys his autonomy, and has always favoured a “do it yourself” approach to his career. As a poet, Alec has taught workshops at the CEGEP (college) in Rouyn Noranda, and also at elementary schools in his hometown of Temiskaming Shores.
