Blog awards, YouTube channel & video interview

liebsterblogTrish here.

Just a few quick announcements to keep you in-the-loop about what’s going on at Mental Health Talk (MHT).

Blog Awards

Before I talk about the awards, I want to say that this blog would not be what it is today without the Superhero guest bloggers, the subscribers, and the regular contributors to the community.

I appreciate you with all my heart.

Now on to the awards…

MHT has been blessed to receive the Runner Up Award for Best New Blog from This Week in Mentalists.  It is a honour to be a newbie in this community and I look forward to getting to know the bloggers who frequent their posts.

MHT has also been nominated for a Liebster Blog Award by my lovely friend Sara at The Bipolar Project.

Sara is a valuable member of the MHT community, an upcoming Superhero guest blogger, and someone I love to connect with because she inspires me to push beyond my limits.

Again, it is a honour.

Liebster is German for ‘beloved’.  For the rules of the award click here.

I am going to follow Sara’s modification to the rules and nominate only 1 blog:  Julies Mum.

Julie’s Mum is a blog about Julie (not her real name), a bubbly 16-year-old, who likes X-factor and Coldplay. Oh, and who happens to have a serious mental illness. The blog is written by her mum to show how their family copes even when things get tough.

I have only been following this blog for a couple of weeks and I am overwhelmed by the compassion and love that comes through from Julie’s mum in her posts.  Julie’s mum is articulate, creative, and inspiring and her blog is well worth the read.

Please check it out at: http://juliesmum.blogspot.com/.

MHT YouTube Channel

I just started up the MHT YouTube channel and we recorded my first video this past week.  Very exciting!

The purpose of this channel is to give people who have experienced mental health issues the opportunity to communicate what they’ve learned on their journey (so far) in order to help others.

The target audience is not only people who are experiencing mental health issues, but anyone who is attentive to their mental well-being.

To start I am doing short infomercials for the featured posts on this blog.  I am going to try and summarize the posts in a way that would interest anyone who is focused on personal development.

Let’s see where it takes us.

Oh yeah!  Here is a link to the channel and please subscribe!

Video Interview

Have you had a chance to check out the featured post From suicidal to thriving: a video interview with cathleen spacil on how to find joy?

I suggest you schedule 20 minutes to hear the awesome practical tips Cathleen has to offer to increase the joy in your life.

Love & peace,

Trish
